Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, case number, or other term entered in an embedded search tool is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Hickman County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When a visitor sends an email, the message may be kept for the time needed to respond and maintain ordinary correspondence records. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal server and analytics logs may record technical information when a page loads, including:
- the device’s Internet Protocol address
- browser name and version
- operating system and general device type
- pages viewed and approximate time spent
- the referring website, when supplied
- the date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a visitor’s device. They and analytics services help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, navigation patterns, and site performance. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, although some functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information may be used for the following operational purposes:
- operating the website and improving load performance
- routing a search request to the selected provider
- measuring which reference pages visitors use
- detecting errors, abuse, and technical faults
- delivering advertising that may reflect user interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Hickman County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Hickman County dockets or personal case records. Its editorial material points readers toward Tennessee Online Court Records, the Circuit Court Clerk, Clerk and Master, trial courts, and Tennessee appellate resources. Court records are governed by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34, the Tennessee Public Records Act, including T.C.A. §§ 10-7-503 and 10-7-504, and other access restrictions. Those laws concern records kept by public custodians and do not turn this private site into a court repository. The site is not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search boxes that may appear on content pages. Information submitted through one of those tools is handled under that provider’s privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing practices. Hickman County Court Docket does not control those practices. Visitors should review the provider’s policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Hickman County clerks, Tennessee courts, public case systems, legal-aid organizations, advertisers, or search services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination’s privacy terms apply. Review those terms before providing personal data.
Advertising providers may use their own technologies to measure activity across websites and select advertisements. That processing occurs on the provider’s systems, not in a Hickman County court-record database maintained here.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- search providers handling a query submitted to their tool
- analytics vendors measuring site use and performance
- advertising networks displaying ads on the pages
- government or law-enforcement authorities acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information under the site’s control. No website, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee complete security. Hickman County Court Docket therefore cannot promise that unauthorized access or a data breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary with a person’s residence and the law that applies. The Tennessee Information Protection Act, Tenn. Code Ann. § 47-18-3301 et seq., provides qualifying Tennessee consumers with rights subject to its scope, definitions, and exceptions. Depending on the circumstances, a person may be able to:
- request access to personal information held about that person
- ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- seek deletion where the law provides that right
- opt out of specified forms of personal-data processing
These privacy choices are separate from requests for public Hickman County court records. Official court-record access runs through the maintaining clerk under Tennessee court rules and the Tennessee Public Records Act.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices, services, or legal requirements change. A new version will appear here with an updated effective date. Visitors should review the current text when they want to understand how information is handled.
